  7. What it does

  9. * Periodically pulls from a list of subscribed GeoRSS feeds into a local database
  10. * Serves requests from Layar in JSON format for posts (points of interest) within a radius of a specified point.

  17. Installation
  18. ------------
  19. Before installing/deploying:
  20. $ export APOLLO_HOSTNAME=example.org
  21. On Heroku:
  22. $ heroku config:add APOLLO_HOSTNAME=example.org
  23. Replace `example.org` with your own hostname. When running locally this will probably be `localhost:3000`.
  24. Set up a cron job or other scheduler to run
  25. $ rake get_all_feeds
  26. once per hour or to taste.
  27. Now create yourself a user account from the console:
  28. $ rails c
  29. > User.create :email => "me@example.org", :password => "verysecret", :password_confirmation => "verysecret"
